UNKT Strategic Approach
The UN Agencies in Kosovo are working together towards creation of a common strategic results framework which identifies the underlying strategic outcomes of the agencies for the period of 2008-2010.
To support Kosovo to socially inclusive development,the UNKT provides policy advice to the Government; helps them to strengthen its institutions for effective implementation of policies to ensure that all people benefit from development; provides technical assistance and a range of other support and services.
The United Nations Strategic Framework 2008-2010 will support Kosovo socially inclusive development and process that address 5 priority areas identified togather with the Kosovo Government and Civil Society:Education, Health, Employment, Social Inclusion, and Governance.
The United Nations Strategic Framework 2008-2010 is still under development and the following strategic outcomes may be subject to change.
- Education: Completion rate of children in compulsory education has increased and quality and inclusive education ensured in all levels of education (preschool, primary and secondary education)
- Health: Women, Children and youth have better access to quality public health services at all levels
- Employment: Employment opportunities increased, particularly in economically lagging areas and among vulnerable groups;
- Social Inclusion: People at risk of poverty and social exclusion gain the opportunities and resources necessary to participate in the decision making processes and realise their economic, social and cultural rights to enjoy a standard of living and well-being that is considered normal in the society.Children have access to essential services and goods in a way that enables their ability to participate fully in society in the future.
- Governance: Improved governance characterized by strengthened justice and rule of law for everyone in Kosovo and improved management of public goods and delivery of public services.
